Brett Norris, CFP®, JM, joined Ferguson Wellman in 2023 and West Bearing Investments in 2025 as a portfolio manager. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional (CFP®) who adheres to a disciplined approach and process to fully understand clients’ goals and provide the best possible financial and investment counsel. Brett also serves on the firm’s wealth management team and as co-chair of the firm’s internship program.
Prior to joining Ferguson Wellman, Brett was a senior financial planner for Keen Wealth Advisors in Overland Park, Kansas; and was an advisor for The Welch Group in Birmingham, Alabama. He earned his B.S. in finance from the University of Alabama, with concentrations in personal wealth management, insurance, and risk management; and his J.M. in taxation from the University of Alabama School of Law, graduating cum laude.
Brett serves on the board of the Japanese Garden Foundation of Oregon, the ambassador board of Big Brothers Big Sisters Columbia Northwest and the Professional Advisory Council of the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington.
In his free time, Brett enjoys traveling with his wife, spending time outdoors and following Alabama athletics.
