Jason Norris, CFA, is a director of the firm and a member of the investment team and the firm’s Investment Policy Committee. As an analyst, he manages the firm’s Dividend Value strategy, is the risk manager for the Core Equity strategy and is a member of the firm’s Global Sustainable Investing strategy team. Further, he is responsible for managing the global technology and healthcare sectors. As a portfolio manager, Jason serves clients with concentrations in Portland, Boise and Twin Falls. He is a frequent guest contributor on Idaho Matters, which airs on KBSX in Boise. Jason is also a principal shareholder of the firm.

Prior to joining Ferguson Wellman in 2001, Jason was an equity analyst with Morgan Stanley Investment Management in New York City. He focused primarily on the technology and telecommunications sectors for the Morgan Stanley Market Leader Trust Fund and the Morgan Stanley Information Fund. Jason received his B.B.A. in economics from Boise State University. He continued his education earning an M.B.A. in finance from the University of Notre Dame where he also served as an investment research assistant.

Jason is chair of the board, investment committee member and regular classroom volunteer for Junior Achievement. He enjoys traveling with his wife and daughters in his spare time.

The term was broached by President Biden during a Super Bowl interview earlier this year, but has been gaining traction more recently (see chart below on Google search trends) due to a proposed bill in Congress, as well as Sesame Street’s Cookie Monster complaining on X (formerly Twitter).
