On September 30, Forbes published an article titled, “Insightful Investing: Giving with Impact”. In it, our colleague, Mary Lago, CFP®, CTFA, shares the fulfillment she experiences when guiding clients toward philanthropy that’s aligned with their values. From there, Lago helps develop goals that lead clients toward tangible ways they can have an impact.
Another role investment advisers play in concert with other professional partners is how best to structure their giving to maximize complex, ever-changing tax benefits. For example, the CARES Act offers unique additional tax incentives for charitable giving in 2020. Philanthropy may be particularly meaningful during uncertain times. This article emphasizes the opportunities charitable giving can provide in terms of maximum impact to nonprofit organization as well tax benefits.
