Joe Herrle, CFA, CAIA, joined Ferguson Wellman in 2021 and serves as vice president of alternative asset research and portfolio management, serving as an analyst and member of the firm’s investment team. Joe leads the firm’s alternative assets strategy and manages the utilities public equity sector. He works with clients concentrated in Portland throughout Oregon. He also serves as co-chair of the firm’s internship program and is a shareholder of the firm.
Prior to joining Ferguson Wellman, Joe spent over a decade in San Francisco working for a family office and a multi-asset manager, where he specialized in private company valuations, manager due diligence, and alternative asset portfolio construction. In his time in the Bay Area, he consulted on and executed several private company and real estate transactions.
Earlier in his career, Joe worked as an auditor, where he received a certified public accountant license. Joe is a Portland native and earned his B.S. degree in accounting from the University of Portland Pamplin Business School. He serves on the board of directors for Financial Beginnings Oregon and the CFA Society of Portland.
In his free time, Joe enjoys golfing, traveling and exploring the Pacific Northwest with his wife, three children and dogs.
