Chris Bixby, CFP®, EA, senior vice president, joined Ferguson Wellman in 2021 and serves as portfolio and wealth manager for clients concentrated in the Puget Sound area. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional (CFP®) and adheres to a disciplined approach and process to fully understand his/her clients’ goals and then provide the best financial and investment counsel. Additionally, Chris has an extensive background in tax preparation, planning and insurance services and is an enrolled agent tax professional. He is also a frequent lecturer and educator on tax topics. Chris is a member of the wealth management team and also a shareholder of the firm.

Prior to joining the firm, Chris worked for Mariner Wealth Advisors and Key Bank as a senior wealth advisor providing portfolio management services to high-net-worth individuals. He also worked as a consultant with Bank of America Merrill Lynch and operated his own finance and tax consulting company. Chris earned his B.S. in financial management from Bob Jones University, his master’s in administration from St. Michael’s College and his Certificate in Banking Leadership from Pacific Coast Banking School. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional (CFP®), an Enrolled Agent (EA), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®), Chartered Advisor in Senior Living (CASL®) and Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®).

Chris currently serves on the board for KidsQuest Children’s Museum, and on the board of ReBuilding Hope! Sexual Assault Center in Pierce County, Washington, and is immediate past president. He previously served on the board of directors for the Financial Planning Association of Puget Sound, the board of directors for Run Vermont, the planned giving committee for the United Way of Chittenden County, the Tax Advisory Council for University of Vermont’s Continuing and Distance Education and the education committee for the Financial Planning Association of Puget Sound.

In his free time, Chris enjoys spending time with his boys, playing the piano, attending live music shows and watching soccer.
