Steven J. Holwerda, CFA
Steve Holwerda, CFA, joined the firm in 1989 and serves as managing director of the firm. Holwerda is a portfolio manager with clients concentrated in Portland, Vancouver, Eugene and Medford.
Prior to joining Ferguson Wellman, Holwerda was a regional director for the University of Oregon athletic department and a national director for the NCAA Volunteers for Youth. Raised in South Dakota, Holwerda earned his B.S. in economics from South Dakota State University and an M.B.A. from the University of Oregon. He is a member and past president of the Chartered Financial Analysts Society of Portland.
Holwerda serves as the treasurer and a trustee of Pioneer Courthouse Square, a board member of the Portland Art Museum and as president of the board of the Portland Golf Club. He has served as president or chairman for numerous community and nonprofit boards including the University of Oregon Foundation, Portland Business Alliance and Boys and Girls Club of Portland, among others. Steve grew up in South Dakota but has been an Oregonian since 1985. He and his wife, Kasey, live in Lake Oswego and have three grown children. He enjoys college athletics, golf, hunting and collecting antique mechanical banks.
